Star Wars: Ahsoka focuses on one of the most pivotal characters in the universe George Lucas created. Anakin Skywalker’s former apprentice may not have appeared in any live-action movies (yet…) but as a key player in hit animated series The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels, Ahsoka Tano has had a front-row seat for many of the most important events in that galaxy far, far away. She’s since gone on to cross paths with Din Djarin, Baby Yoda and Luke Skywalker in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett.

The new Ahsoka TV show puts the Togruta Force-wielder front and center, with Rosario Dawson taking on a role Ashley Eckstein originated in animation. Like The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, the new Disney Plus series is set in the aftermath of the (supposed) demise of the Empire, some five years after the conclusion of Return of the Jedi. It’s also a follow-up to Rebels, so expect the eponymous Ms Tano to be joined by familiar faces such as pilot Hera Syndulla, Mandalorian warrior Sabine Wren and – at some point – wannabe Jedi Ezra Bridger. We’ll also see the return of villainous Imperial officer Grand Admiral Thrawn, one of the most iconic bad guys in the history of the long-running franchise.
