Pioneer in chemotherapy-related scalp cooling technology Paxman Scalp Cooling has been recognised as ‘Heroes of British Export’ at the 2025 Made in Britain Impact Awards.
The Huddersfield-based manufacturer secured the accolade at the ceremony this week, hosted by Made in Britain, the internationally recognised trademark for British-made goods.
Judges praised Paxman Scalp Cooling for its ‘exceptional export growth’, expanding international presence and global clinical recognition. The company has recorded sustained double-digit export growth across multiple regions, with major advances in the Middle East, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Europe and Latin America. It has also secured strategic partnerships and a landmark merger with Swedish competitor, Dignitana.
Anna Parker, Head of International Sales at Paxman Scalp Cooling said: “We manufacture a medical device that allows cancer patients to retain their hair during chemotherapy, and for many of us at Paxman, it’s more than a job – it’s a true calling.
“Every one of us, in some way, has been touched by cancer or knows someone who has been touched by cancer. It adds a purpose, knowing that we’re doing something humane to make the often gruesome journey endured by cancer patients that much more tolerable. It’s an absolute pleasure to accept this award on behalf of our team.”
John Pearce, CEO of Made in Britain added: “I’m delighted to recognise Paxman Scalp Cooling as Made in Britain’s Heroes of British Export for 2025. Paxman exemplifies what it means to take British innovation to the world, combining commercial excellence with life-changing impact.
“The company’s sustained export growth, entry into new global markets and landmark merger demonstrate a bold, structured approach to international expansion. Paxman’s story is one of ambition, purpose and British ingenuity, delivering meaningful global benefits while proudly carrying the Made in Britain mark.”
The award, sponsored by Thundercat Industries, was presented to Paxman Scalp Cooling by George Andronikos, Head of Made Smarter Innovation Policy, Batteries, Finance and Innovative Technologies for the Department for Business & Trade.
