Pioneering solution integrates GSMA-certified standard, offering remote connectivity management, advanced security, and optimized operation for large-scale IoT

Three IoT market giants join forces to launch the first tracker with eSIM technology in Brazil.

Links Field, the second-largest IoT MVNO in the country, operates using Vivo’s access network. In partnership with Hapolo, a leader in tracking technology and solutions, and SIMCom, a global leader in modules and chipsets, it introduces the HP 440 4G/2G model. This innovation combines advanced eSIM technology with the reliability of 4G tracking, including fallback to 2G, marking a significant milestone for the Brazilian IoT and M2M market.

The HP 440 is equipped with SGP.32 eSIM technology, a standard established by the GSMA in 2024 and recently launched globally by Links Field as part of its GSMA-certified eSIM technology stack. In this release, the SGP.32 solution focuses on the IoT market and eliminates the need for QR codes, enabling remote and secure activation, management, and operator profile switching. This technology brings significant logistical benefits to large-scale IoT operations. This innovation offers companies greater flexibility, reduced field-related costs, and optimized operations, ensuring better connectivity management, even in challenging scenarios such as remote areas and those far from major urban centers.

The tracker was designed to meet the connectivity and security demands of various sectors. With 4G connectivity and 2G fallback, the HP 440 ensures operation in locations with low network coverage. Its IP65 rating protects against dust and water, making it ideal for applications in transportation, logistics, and agribusiness. The device also features internal memory to store up to 500 positions even without a signal, a compact and efficient design, and a 300 mAh battery. It also offers specialized technical support, personalized configuration, and direct assistance from Links Field experts.

The eSIM technology integrated into the HP 440 represents a true revolution in the tracking and connectivity sector. Among its main benefits is global connectivity, which allows the device to connect to the profile management server, allowing managers to choose the most appropriate connectivity contracts for each scenario. This includes switching carriers or adding new carriers to increase coverage contingency. One of the most significant advantages is logistics optimization. Traditionally, companies spend a substantial portion of their budgets on technical visits to physically access devices for maintenance or SIM card replacement. With eSIM technology, this process is performed remotely, reducing operational costs by over 90%.

Furthermore, the security of the equipment and the solution is enhanced because the tracker does not require a physical chip, unlike the model developed by Hapolo. This makes the device more resistant to fraud and tampering, and it also allows for remote blocking in case of loss or theft. The solution also stands out for its commitment to sustainability, by eliminating the use of disposable materials, and for its operational flexibility, allowing remote adjustments to carrier profiles without the need for any physical intervention.

The three companies have an established presence in the Asian giant, which allowed the rapid mobilization of teams of engineers and specialists to meet a strategic demand in the national market. Following GSMA-certified technical guidelines, SIMCom engineers integrated the IPA solution directly into its chipset, ensuring the correct implementation of the eSIM SGP.32 protocol stack and enabling communication with SM-DP+ servers (both from Links Field and other vendors). In practical terms, this collaboration provides significant operational and financial benefits to customers, translating cutting-edge technology into real value for the market.

Thiago Rodrigues, CEO of Links Field Brazil, emphasizes that the launch of the HP 440, with eSIM technology, represents a milestone for the Brazilian tracking market. According to him, this innovation reaffirms Links Field’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge technology solutions capable of meeting companies’ growing demands for connectivity, security, and operational efficiency.

“The HP 440 was developed with a focus on optimizing our customers’ operations, achieving significant gains in field maintenance operations. With this, we’re targeting strategic sectors such as transportation and logistics, offering reliable, interference-resistant tracking; automotive insurance, enabling continuous monitoring; and with low downtime and asset management, facilitating access to real-time data for usage-based pricing and loss prevention; and agribusiness, enabling the tracking of machinery and equipment in remote areas,” explains Rodrigues.

Hapolo, a strategic partner in the development of the tracker, emphasizes the importance of collaboration with Links Field in driving technological innovation in the market. Matheus Vicente, Commercial Director at Hapolo, states: “The technical and commercial partnership with Links Field was essential in bringing the first eSIM tracker, the HP 440, to the Brazilian market. The solution brings a disruptive tool that combines advanced connectivity, security, and efficiency, all in an affordable format. The collaboration of Hapolo’s international technical teams with Links Field made this pioneering and innovative development possible in a short time, allowing us to add significant value to Brazilian businesses. This collaboration reflects our commitment to offering the best technology to our customers and expanding the possibilities for companies that want to adapt and thrive in the era of digital transformation.”
