The MacBook Pro with the base M5 chip is a fantastic option if you’d rather not spend upwards of two grand on a laptop. The difference in processing speed compared to the Pro chips is most noticeable during the most demanding workflows, so unless you really need top-tier performance, we recommend considering the base model Pro — especially while it’s $200 off.

When is Amazon’s Spring Sale?
The Big Spring Sale kicks off on March 25th, 2026, running until March 31st, 2026. Keep in mind that many laptops will actually see price reductions before that time, however, as retailers move to clear inventory ahead of the launch date.
How did we choose these early Amazon Spring Sale deals?
ZDNET only covers deals that we’d consider buying ourselves. Most, if not all of these products we’ve tested (or very similar configurations in the same product family), and have given the thumbs up to.
We tend to highlight deals that are either 20% off or are hardly ever on sale, using established price comparison tools and trackers to determine how frequently it drops.
We also looked over customer reviews to find out what matters to real people who already own and use the deals we’re recommending. Our recommendations may also be based on our own testing — in addition to extensive research and comparison shopping. The goal is to deliver the most accurate advice to help you shop smarter.
