Oculus Rift founder responds to pro-Trump campaign involvement leak

Oculus Rift founder Palmer Luckey has recently been the center of a political controversy as details showing his apparent support for US Presidential candidate Donald Trump have been revealed. According to the information that was leaked, he donated $10k to Nimble America which is a company that supports Trump and slanders his competitor, Hillary Clinton.

Luckey released a statement to say that this does not represent his views and that he donated to the group because he believed they had fresh ideas for communicing with young voters. He also commented that he did not write the “NimbleRichMan” posts on Reddit. The leak also states that he was a vocal member of the Nimble America Reddit under that username and that he later deleted the account once the leak happened.

Several developers have so far dropped Oculus Rift support for their games in response to this; there are also many developers who believe that this does not reflect the beliefs of the Oculus Rift team and will continue to work with them despite the allegations.

More news about these allegations and the response to them is expected to be released over the next few weeks.
